SNP Designer Mentoring Course

SNP is offereing a 6 week designer mentoring course. This is not a contest, there are no eliminations. Everyone who signs up and makes their submissions gets to learn the entire course. There is 1 mentor per 5 students so you get lots of individualized attention. At the end some people will be offered a store at Scraps n Pieces. What's Going On At STS

There are some fun new products at Stuff to Scrap to tell you about.

First is this month's mega kit is called Whimsical Wonders. It's got a great palette and is full of fun doodled elements. This month's contributors were AmyDane Designs, Digi-Designs by Nicole, Growing Pains Scrapped, Jensen Motley Crew Designs, Scraps 'N Pieces, and SAHM Scrapper.

There is a coordinating set of QPs that are available and there's a twist: When you purchase the Whimsical Wonders mega-collab during the first week of March, you get the QPs free.

The March BAK is a great collection of gaming kits. More info on flier.

There's also a great CU grab bag this month.

And finally, we're getting closer to Scrapalicious Digi-Retreat with Stuff to Scrap designers and forum members. Check out more information here.

Designer Darling Contest Round 2

It is now Round 2 of the Designer Darling Contest. This round's challenge was to create a kit with a monochromatic palette. It took me quite a while to decide on a color, and then even longer to figure out a theme. But in the end, I am very pleased with what I came up with. It is a Valentines/Love kit with a twist. It is called Gamble on Love and it contains 7 papers and 13 elements. You can download it from the Designer Darling Round 2 thread in the STS forum by clicking here. My post is closer to the bottom, so you will have to scroll down to find it.

What's Going On At STS

Cutie Fruity has come out with the bright and fun kit called Loop See Doo. The kits has little loopsy dolls that are just adorable. (I have all boys, but my neice got some of these for Christmas so I can happily say I know what they are.) Preview is linked to the store. Be sure to head on over and grab it!!!

SNP Classes

Are you wanting to learn about Photoshop and Photoshop Elements? Then why not join in on Scraps N Pieces FREE Beginner Classes?

These FREE classes will be a 6 week course for those who digital scrapbook in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. It will be a very basic course, so if you have some experience with the programs, you will want to wait for our PS and PSE Technique course that begins in February. Class size is LIMITED but we will try to offer is a couple of times per year. Classes will be held in a private area at the SNP forum. Assignments will be posted at the beginning of each week and you will have a week to do your "homework" and post your completed assignment. You can work at your own pace to complete it anytime during that week.

Classes will begin on January 2nd and go through February 11th.

Classes will cover:

Week 1 - Organizing/downloading/unzipping/making file folders and understanding Photoshop Tools and Menus

Week 2 - Understanding and manipulating layer - Scraplift (posting completed layout at the SNP gallery is required)

Week 3 - Making a layout from scratch (posting completed layout at the SNP gallery is required)

Week 4 - How to use a quick page (posting completed layout at the SNP gallery is required)

Week 5 - Effects - black and white/sepia/bevels/drop shadows/strokes (posting completes layout at the SNP gallery is required)

Week 6 - Text - text boxes/spacing/how to make your own text a little more exciting with effects and textures/vertical and horizontal text (posting completed layout at the SNP gallery is required)

December Activities at STS

Happy December! There's a lot going on this month at Stuff to Scrap.

Today is the beginning of the month and the start of a new class, Countdown to Christmas. What if you miss a few days? No need to worry--you can go back and get the templates you've missed.

There's a special kit for the class. It coordinates with the monthly designer collab, Pine Cones and Holly Berries.

The designers have also created a fantastic mega kit for you this month called Pine Cones and Holly Berries. It's packed with all sorts of great papers and elements plus alphas and a template.
